The Madero Group, Bonfire Entertainment and State Bridge are bringing a heavy lineup to the banks of the Colorado River to make River Beats happen for a second year. If camping is your thing and heavy beats are your jam, River Beats will please you with an ample amount of both. Advance two-day passes are still available for a mere $50, and if camping gets you as excited as the music side of a festival, this is the place you want to be this weekend.
I am such a sucker for Ana Sia and will go anywhere she's playing, ESPECIALLY if that somewhere is outdoors. I'm looking forward to all the Friday artists, beginning with a tech-house warm-up from Super Dre, Black Actors, Fresh2Death, Knight Riderz, and Michal Menert.
Saturday is going to be even bigger -- I'm really looking forward to seeing Eliot Lipp for the first time since the release of Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake (and potentially performing "Gettin' Money" with Michal Menert). Not gonna lie, REALLY intrigued by the DYNOHUNTER "dub" set, and even though Sir CharLes is doing 'tweener sets I think he's as talented as Samples (I guess we're about to find out!). SunSquabi, Salva, and smooth stylings from Mike Pinto round out the rest of the lineup, and my sixth sense is telling me David Starfire is going to steal the show.
If you can't make it this weekend, the River Beats Pre-Party is going to be all of the fun without the camping. I want to go just to see the Herbie Hancock tribute (performed by members of Juno What? and Big Gigantic), but a HUGE chunk of the River Beats lineup will be there including Eliot Lipp giving Shark, Wolf, Snake, Rabbit a proper lift-off along with Ana Sia, Knight Riderz, and Samples.
